Dalia Sevilla
is a queer, Latiné, and Jewish director, lighting designer, and producer. Dalia was born in Mexico City and moved to the states as a young child. She studied Classical Voice ar NYU and discovered their love for directing and lighting designing in the process.
Dalia has worked extensively in NYC including her Off- Broadway directorial debut with the american premiere of the musical Of A Lifetime, directed 7 operas with the Classical Voice Collective at NYU, lighting designed various concerts with the NYPops at Carnagie Hall, and designed An Unfunny Evening with Tim Minchin and His Piano North American tour.
Dalia recently founded La Senta, an opera company through which she recently directed the inaugural production of Ice-ing on the Cake.
Dalia believes that theater should break down barriers and blur the rigid lines of society. By creating theater, together we can inspire empathy and inclusion. Theater helps us understand the world around us and ourselves.
Dalia lives in Brooklyn with their wife and two cats.
